And here we have the final drawing for my collaboration with ~Ptitukyo -- what would our Vestals be without their Priestess, Akagi Honouko ("The Red-clothed Flame-child" ).
Priestess Honouko was the Vestal Verania before Diana, during the time of the first Holy Wars (if you're curious, I also have an idea of how the Priestess before her looked like... )
I actually drew her before Gegania Gen (around June/July 2007) and I was going through a Marvel phase (which would explain her stronger body structure). I actually had a hard time designing her armor, to the point that I almost bore holes into paper -- how do I make it different from the Vestals, in the sense that you know, just by looking that this person's of a higher rank (besides the staff, that is)? How do I make her "fully covered" without copying the kamui?
Again, I had to run to CLAMP and take a look at the Magic Knight Rayearth armors. The Cloths of Saint Seiya are way too masculine, and I didn't want this Priestess to wear a gown all the way as I want her to be mobile, and yet look regal.
The colors were easy to figure out -- a brighter gold than Tarpeia, and have the staple color "red" of Hestia and fire-flowers.
I would like to thank Stephanie of Obsidian Dawn for her "Arcane Circles" brush set, and Ningen Anime Wallpapers for the tutorials on how to make them glow.
I hope y'all enjoy this as much as I did while making it.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
