My entry for =Bluefire-A-tatsumi's contest. Whew! I think I made it just in time!

Info on Takiko: this character is heavily inspired by the series, Senkaiden Houshin Engi, albeit she has nothing to do with the show. She lives in a world where spirits, legends and gods do not exist anymore.

As far as she had known, she was part of a family and a people called Nomad Farmers -- these people move from place to place and work on fertile lands. Their good deeds help people and make them influential in their land. Unfortunately, the governing bodies feel threatened and decide to eradicate them...

In an unexpected assault, Takiko abruptly learned that she is not who she thinks she is. Before her family was taken down, her mother sent her away, with only the Staff of the Elements to guide her. She had never seen her family ever since.

And thus, she wanders and in her travels discover the power of the staff, and the power she holds within. In the course of her travels, she comes across Airez Hunter -- as Takiko and Air both share an easy-going nature, despite the burden of their pasts and duties, they click and form a short-lived, but meaningful friendship.
